A PLACE TO COLLECT AND SHARE DREAMS!

Hey Church!

On Thanksgiving weekend i invited everyone at Riverwood to email me their dream.  We've been studying the lives of Joseph, Moses and Nehemiah...and learning a pile about how God gives people 'Big Dreams'.

In our first study, we were challenged to 'identify and embrace' the Big Dream.

Big Dreams are typically identified by five characteristics:

1. You have a sense that this is what you were born to do!
2. You have a sense that you are under-qualified...but willing!
3. The Big Dream seems utterly overwhelming at first!
4. The Big Dream is meant to meet a Big Need!
5. There is a sense that it's not too late!

This last weekend we met the Bullies that will try to destroy your dream.

Anyway, at the end of week two i mentioned that i didn't want to just be a bit of a Dream Coach ... but i also wanted to become a Dream Collector.

What you are about to read are some of the dreams that people have given me permission to post.

Read.  Enjoy.  Be inspired.  Dream Big!

- Todd

  1. This series is working in my heart - it's made me recognize my dream and realize that through the recent services my dream is coming to be! I can't wait to see how it unfolds and becomes more.
The dream is to have a relationship with Christ for myself and my family in order to us to live a more connected and peace filled life.
I'd like to explain a bit further ...
-I've attended Riverwood on my own since Easter service 2009 enjoying the feeling of the church along with the messages.
-For the past six months I've dealing with a serious illness - causing more time and place for reflection on life.
-Pastor Jon's invitation to ALPHA encouraged me to register (bringing a family member along with me). Fantastic program - we are learning so much!
-Pastor Todd's explanation of the various stages of faith made me less intimidated with my stage of "exploring" life as a Christian.
I took the step across the line making a committment to a stronger relationship with Christ.
-When Todd provided an outline of the upcoming services including Dare to Dream I excitedly saw an opportunity to invite my husband attend - which he has fully engaged.
Thanks to Riverwood we are stepping out of our comfort zone and working toward my Big Dream!
